June 7, 2010 - Macon Man is a celebration of the art, history, and people that make up this great community. Join us for the official launch of this comic adventure. Come hear more about the inspiration for this work by the artist Craig Hamilton who will be signing autographs from 6pm to 9pm ~ so, don’t forget your Macon Man copy. Children are welcome until 9pm for a meet and greet session with Craig Hamilton, autograph signings, and to buy Macon Man merchandise.

Special performance by Deonna Sage.

Macon Man merchandise will be available. In addition, there will be exclusive previews of upcoming Macon Man episodes and original art for sale.

Macon to Star in New Superhero Comic

MACON, GA – When some likeminded community members got together, love was not in the air, but, after a few hours, the sparks were flying. “I came in with one idea,” said famed comic illustrator Craig Hamilton, “but ended up doing something better”.

During a brainstorming session between Hamilton and Sandefur, the idea of creating a Macon Superhero was born.

“We’ve created Macon Man as a creative product to promote our city in an inclusive yet creative way” said Terrell Sandefur owner of The SoChi Companies.

Macon Man stars a full cast of superheroes, villains, and local landmarks. Hamilton describes this creation as a natural outlet, encompassing his passion for his hometown and its history. He explains, “Macon’s history will be a big part this story. I have been here long enough to see my friends have children and watch them develop into these artistic entities. There is something in Macon that brings out superhero qualities in individuals”.

The Macon Man adventure begins when 3rd generation Maconites start developing extraordinary powers. “These kids need guidance and a mentor,” Hamilton explains.
